Generally, services offered by Agritourisms in Europe can be divided into four main areas: Firstly, accommodations such as bed and breakfast and vacation farms. Secondly, tours associated with production or value-added processing (e.g. wineries, dairy operations) or scenic environments (e.g. botanical gardens, herb farms). These tours may be delivered by outside agencies or on-site farm operators. Il Museo Etnografico della Lunigiana è situato in un complesso di edifici storici comprendenti gli antichi mulini della comunità di Villafranca e conserva le testimonianze materiali della civiltà contadina rimasta immutata per secoli. Il percorso museale prevede tre grandi aree tematiche corrispondenti ai tre piani in cui si sviluppa la struttura architettonica.
Nel piano superiore sono ordinati i materiali inerenti l'attività di lavoro dello spazio casa (alimentazione, lavorazione della castagna, del latte, della caanapa, tessitura, incrocio del vimine, vinificazione). Nel piano intermedio sono raccolti i materiali relativi alle attività artigianali (lavorazione del legno, del ferro e della pietra). Nel piano inferiore sono esposti gli attrezzi e gli strumenti del lavoro agricolo e le attrezzature restaurate del mulino e del frantoio.
